LAHORE – Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz took additional portfolio as Chairperson of Central Business District (CBD) Authority, a notification issued by the Services and General Administration Department (S&GAD) said.
As per the official notification, Maryam Nawaz will serve as the Chairperson of the CBD Authority for a term of three years. The appointment marks her direct involvement in overseeing the province’s flagship urban development and commercial hub projects.
The notification also stated that former bureaucrat Shahid Ashraf Tarar, who was previously leading the CBD Board as its Chairman, has been relieved of his responsibilities and de-notified from the position.
Additionally, Osama Laghari, Member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA) from Dera Ghazi Khan, has been appointed as a member of the CBD Board.
Central Business District Authority, established to develop high-value commercial and residential zones in Punjab, is a key initiative aimed at promoting investment and modern urban infrastructure in Lahore and other major cities. With the Chief Minister now directly heading the authority, the move is expected to accelerate progress on major development projects under the CBD umbrella.
