Chohan returns as Punjab govt spokesman

Punjab Minister for Prisons and Colonies Fayazul Hasan Chohan on Friday was once again appointed as spokesman for the provincial government. Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar gave his approval to the appointment.

Chohan’s appointment came in the wake of resignation by special assistant to Punjab CM Firdous Ashiq Awan a few days ago which had left a void in the provincial government.

Later speaking to the media, Chohan said he was grateful to the party’s high command for giving him an additional assignment of spokesman for the Punjab government.

He expressed the hope that he would meet the expectations of Prime Minister Imran Khan and Punjab CM Usman Buzdar.

“As a spokesman for the provincial government, highlighting the achievements of Buzdar administration is my basic duty,” he said, and added, “I will expose the conspiracies being hatched by the opposition against the Punjab government.”

Punjab government spokesman Fayyaz-ul-Hassan Chauhan’s big decision fired all the government spokespersons already working. Notifications of all Punjab government spokespersons were canceled.

According to the notification, Fayyaz-ul-Hassan Chauhan will be the only spokesperson of the Punjab government. All government spokespersons already in office were removed.

Malik Asad Khokhar, the new minister joining the Punjab cabinet, has been allotted the department of Housing and Public Health. Malik Asad Khokhar, a PTI member from Lahore, will be the Minister for Housing and Public Health.

Asad Khokhar was sworn in as a minister on August 10. Governor Punjab Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar administered the oath to him.

Malik Asad Khokhar had been a part of the Punjab cabinet in the past also. After the approval of the Chief Minister, a notification was issued to allot the department to Asad Khokhar.
