ISLAMABAD – Cement prices in Pakistan have witnessed alight upward adjustment this week amid ongoing market volatility due to additional expenses. The average retail price for 50 kg bag of cement now hovers between Rs 1,340-Rs 1,440, depending on the brand and region.

Pakcem Cement and Maple Leaf Cement currently lead the market, priced around Rs 1,430–1,440 and Rs 1,425–1,435 respectively. DG Khan Cement follows closely at Rs 1,415–1,425, while Bestway Cement and Fauji Cement retail for approximately Rs 1,405–1,415 and Rs 1,395–1,405 per bag.

Dealers in major cities including Lahore, Karachi, and Islamabad report consistent demand from the construction sector despite price fluctuations. Industry analysts suggest that the price increase stems from higher input costs, particularly in coal and fuel imports, along with rupee depreciation.

Cement industry saw 16.25% rise in total shipments during the first quarter of FY26, reaching 12.161 million tonnes, up from 10.461 million tonnes in the same period last year.

Local sales increased by 15% to 9.573 million tonnes, compared with 8.319 million tonnes previously. Meanwhile, export volumes grew by 21%, totaling 2.589 million tonnes. Overall cement dispatches, including both local and export sales, climbed 7% year-on-year to 4.250 million tonnes, from 3.970 million tonnes last year.

Domestic sales rose 14.38% to 3.418 million tonnes, while exports fell by 15.25%, dropping to 831,966 tonnes from 981,646 tonnes in the same month last year.
