Layyah health workers crossed Indus River water channels on boats to press ahead with the anti-measles, rubella vaccination drive in the South Punjab district on Friday.
The lady health workers vowed to successfully complete the immunisation drive among children.
Amid the harsh weather conditions and even the ineffective transport in the South Punjab city, health workers crossed the river on boats to reach their destinations each day.
Male health workers also took their motorbikes with them on boats to cross river and then continue immunisation drive.
Layyah city area consists of a semi-rectangular block of sandy land between the Indus River and the Chenab River in Sindh Sagar Doab.—INP
