The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC), president Vikar Rasool Wani and working president, Raman Bhalla have said that the Bharatiya Janata Party has let down the people of Jammu and Kashmir on all fronts, besides creating a discord on the basis of ethnicity and regionalism in the territory.

They said this while addressing a party meeting in Jammu. Speaking on the occasion, Wani slammed BJP for putting J&K’s interests and development subservient to the pleasure of their vested interests.”They have created a unique situation, which shows their convergence in sticking to power but demonstrates divergence to the extent of jingoism when it comes to inciting passions on core issues”, he said.

The lack of cohesion and vision has made people of J&K suffer on account of development. He made a particular mention of the BJP and dared its leadership to list their achievements with regard to fulfilling the developmental needs of J&K people. Bhalla in his address said that while the insensitive BJP Govt failed in assuaging urges and aspirations of the people on political front, its record in governance was quite dismal. “The J&K was virtually witnessing misgovernance with government nowhere to be seen on ground”, he said.

He blamed BJP for exploiting people by playing with their emotions. “Apart from developmental and administrative inertia, the present anti-people dispensation is credited of sowing seeds of discord and perpetrating polarization by bringing regions.—KMS
