Bilawal House slams Mustafa Kamal’s statement on Karachi’s federal control

Bilawal House Slams Mustafa Kamals Statement On Karachis Federal Control

KARACHI – Bilawal House Spokesperson and Sindh Assembly Member Surendar Valasai on Friday issued a strong condemnation of Federal Minister Mustafa Kamal’s recent statement suggesting that Karachi should be handed over to the federal government.

Bilawal House spokesperson remarked that Mustafa Kamal appears to suffer from a “political sleepwalking disorder.” He further stated that someone who lacks the credentials to even serve as a councilor should not be appointed as a federal minister, adding that such individuals would neither have their feet on the ground nor their senses intact.

Surendar Valasai also criticized Kamal, calling him a “political puppet” who lacks both a clear political direction and an independent vision. He questioned whether cities should be handed over to the federal government simply because of accidents, stating that, if that logic held, Lahore would have been under Islamabad’s control long ago.

The spokesperson highlighted the frequency of fire incidents in Lahore, including two fires at Al-Fateh Shopping Mall, three at Hafeez Centre and two at Pace Mall. Despite these events, no one has ever demanded that Lahore be brought under federal control.

Surendar Valasai further raised the rhetorical question: “If, God forbid, a fire were to occur in Islamabad, which government would be responsible for its control?”

He strongly condemned the idea of transferring Karachi to the federal government, calling it a baseless, divisive statement driven by prejudice, destruction, and politics of violence.

Surendar Valasai added that such remarks were unconstitutional, unrealistic and against the unity of Pakistan. He emphasized that the people of Karachi would not allow the city to be separated from Sindh or for Pakistan’s federal structure to be weakened.

The Bilawal House spokesperson reiterated that Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is carrying forward the legacy of his mother, the late Benazir Bhutto, who was a unifying force for all four provinces of Pakistan.
