Bangladesh’s scheduled tour to India may postpone again

Bangladeshs Scheduled Tour To India May Postpone Again

DHAKA – Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Tamim Iqbal has indicated that India’s scheduled tour of Bangladesh next month could be postponed again as the two cricket boards continue discussions over the series dates.

The two boards are currently consulting each other on the schedule, with the dates potentially being adjusted depending on the outcome of the talks.

Bangladesh’s tour to India was originally scheduled for August last year but was subsequently postponed until September 2026.

Under the current schedule, India are due to play three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and three T20 Internationals during the tour of Bangladesh.

However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has yet to make an official announcement regarding the series.

The first ODI is currently scheduled for September 3, leaving limited time for preparations and increasing speculation that the dates could be changed.

Iqbal said discussions between the two boards were ongoing and suggested that the schedule could be moved forward or pushed back.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh has announced an age-group tournament to be held in Mirpur from August 28 to September 9.

The tournament schedule could also be affected if the India series goes ahead as currently planned.

According to Iqbal, if the India tour is confirmed, matches of the age-group tournament could be shifted to another venue to accommodate the international fixtures.

The uncertainty comes as cricket authorities on both sides continue working on the logistical and scheduling arrangements for the bilateral series.

No final decision on a revised schedule has been announced so far, while the BCB and BCCI are expected to continue discussions before confirming the dates.

The proposed series would comprise six matches in total, with three ODIs and three T20Is, provided the tour proceeds according to the current plan.
