Asad terms ECP’s decision of LG polls postponement surprising, funny

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Central Secretary General Asad Umar strongly reacted to the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) decision of postponement of local body elections in Karachi and Hyderabad divisions and said that Pakistan’s future decisions would be made only by its people.

In a statement on Thursday, Asad said that the ECP’s decision to postpone the elections due to downpour was surprising and a funny thing. He said that the decision to defer the LG polls just three days ahead of the elections were clearly showed the biasness of the commission because like in Punjab by-polls elections, the public sentiments were clearly depicted that PTI would sweep the polls.

He said that the ECP took the decision to save PDM from humiliating defeat; however, he stated that whenever elections were held, the cabal of crooks would face a crushing defeat. Asad Umar stated that the ECP has become completely biased and it was next to impossible to hold free, fair and transparent general elections under this election commission.
