DUBAI – The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Friday announced the nominees for the November Men’s and Women’s Player of the Month awards, with spin bowlers and all-rounders dominating the selections.
A press release issued by the ICC said that South Africa’s senior spinner Simon Harmer, Bangladesh’s left-arm spinner Taijul Islam and Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz have been shortlisted in the men’s category.
Harmer and Taijul secured their places after delivering match-winning performances that guided their respective teams to Test series victories against India and Ireland.

Mohammad Nawaz earned his nomination on the basis of consistent all-round performances during the recently concluded tri-series featuring Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe, as well as the ODI series against Sri Lanka.
In the ODI fixtures, Nawaz scored 104 runs at a strike rate of 114.28 and picked up four wickets. In T20Is, he added 52 runs and claimed 11 wickets at an average of 12.72. His 3 for 17 in the tri-series final against Sri Lanka proved decisive in Pakistan’s title win and also earned him the Player of the Series award.
The ICC would announce the winners after the completion of the voting process.
