LAHORE—The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) sealed 141 illegal commercial buildings and commercialisation fee defaulter premises during operations in different areas of Lahore on Tuesday.
LDA’s Town Planning Wing sealed 20 buildings in Gulberg, 21 in Subzazar and on Wahdat Road, 31 in Westwood Colony and TIP Society, and 69 in Shadman, Shah Jamal, Gulshan-e-Ravi, Shadbagh and on Canal Bank Road for illegal commercial use and nonpayment of commercialisation fees.
The sealed premises include American Lycetuff, The Educators, Reward School, Kanz-ul-Iman Beacon School, Mitcon Grammar School, English Grammar School, Yousaf School System, Stationery Emporium, Hasan Orthopaedic & Poly Clinic, GC Pharmacy, salons, workshops, grocery stores, food points, offices, and other businesses.
LDA Chief Town Planner I Assad-uz-Zaman and Chief Town Planner II Azhar Ali supervised the operations carried out by the enforcement teams with the help of the Police.
According to the LDA spokesperson, several notices were served to the owners of these buildings before carrying out the operations.
LDA Director General Tahir Farooq has directed continuing indiscriminate operations against violations of bylaws, illegal commercial buildings and commercialisation fee defaulters in LDA-controlled areas.
