Governor chairs meeting to review federally-funded projects

Governor Sindh Imran Ismail presided over a review meeting of federally-funded projects for the province of Sindh at Governor House on Monday. Members of National Assembly Najeeb Haroon and Aftab Sidiqui and Members of Provincial Assembly Firdous Shamim Naqvi and Khurrum Sher Zaman attended the meeting. Chairman Sindh Infrastructure Development Company Limited (SIDCL) Samar Ali Khan, Member SIDCL Board Adnan Asdar, Mahmood Molvi, Ashraf Qureshi and concerned officers were also present on the occasion. The meeting discussed at length progress of green line, purchase of Fire tenders for Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, K-IV, construction of main roads in Karachi, construction of bridge at Jinnah Avenue and other projects. The meeting also deliberated upon various new major projects for Karachi and their pre-feasibility approval was also accorded on the occasion. The meeting further approved naming of already constructed flyovers after prominent personalities to recognize their contributions. Governor Sindh was informed that first prototype inspection of Fire tenders for KMC would be held by the end of July 2020. A joint team of KMC, SIDCL and third party monitors would visit China shortly to check the Fire tenders, he was further informed. The meeting was apprised that the technical tenders for purchase of busses for green line are scheduled to be opened on 27th July 2020 while the technical tenders for IITC for green line would be opened on 29th July 2020. The Governor Sindh while stressing on completion of on-going projects also asked for conceptualization of new projects for Karachi so as to improve infrastructure of basis amenities in our mega city. He said Federal Government was fully aware of the development requirements of the provinces and it would provide all possible help and assistance to the province in this regard. He said that the green line after completion and would provide state of the art travelling facilities to Karachiites which was their due right.
