QUETTA – The Balochistan government has announced revised working hours for government offices for the winter season, with the new schedule coming into effect from October 15, 2026, and remaining in place until April 14, 2027.
According to a notification issued by the Services and General Administration Department, government offices will operate from 8:30am to 4pm from Monday to Thursday. A break for prayer and lunch will be observed from 1:30pm to 2pm.
Friday Office Timings
On Fridays, government offices will remain open from 8:30am to 3:30pm.
The notification provides a break from 1:15pm to 2:15pm for Friday prayers and lunch.
Two Weekly Holidays
Under the winter schedule, government offices will remain closed on Saturday and Sunday, giving employees two weekly holidays.
Hospitals and Educational Institutions Exempt
The revised timings will not apply to hospitals and educational institutions.
Universities, colleges and schools will continue to follow their respective schedules and will remain outside the scope of the new government office timings.
Six-Day Schedule for Attached Offices
Attached offices of the Health and Education Departments will operate on a six-day working schedule.
From Monday to Thursday and on Saturday, these offices will function from 8:30am to 2:30pm. On Friday, their working hours will be from 8:30am to 12:30pm.
