LAHORE — Several Lahore neighbourhoods are set to witness no gas for cooking as Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) prepares to cut gas supplies for emergency pipeline repairs, leaving residents of Paragon City, DHA and other major areas without gas until Thursday morning.
The unexpected disruption will start at 9 pm on September 30 and is scheduled to continue until 6 a.m. on Thursday, October 1, leaving residents without gas for several hours during the night.
SNGPL said the affected network covers Main Barki Road, Paragon City and all blocks of DHA Phases 6 and 7. The outage will also hit Mehfoozpura, DHA Phase 8, Askari X, Airport Road and the Cantonment area.
The gas suspension extends to Ghazi Road, DHA Phases 1, 2, 3 and 4, Nishat Colony, Harbanspura, Bedian Road and Askari XI.
Residents of Dharampura, Ghaziabad, Canal Road and adjoining areas are also expected to experience the disruption while repair teams work to address the pipeline leak.
SNGPL has advised consumers in all affected areas to make alternative arrangements for their gas needs during the emergency shutdown.
The company has also urged residents to keep gas appliances switched off while the supply remains suspended and take precautions when gas service is restored to help prevent accidents.
