CSS 2027 MPT scheduled announced – application deadline, test date

Fpsc Turns Down Reports Of Sharp Decline In Css Candidates

ISLAMABAD – The Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) has announced the schedule for the Multiple Choice Questions-Based Preliminary Test (MPT) for the CSS 2027 examination, including the timeline for online applications and the date of the test.

According to a public notice issued by FPSC, candidates seeking to appear in the CSS 2027 MPT can submit their online applications until August 20, 2026.

The commission stated that applications received after the deadline will not be entertained, urging candidates to complete their registration process within the given timeframe.

The MPT will be conducted on September 27, 2026 (Sunday) simultaneously across 19 cities of Pakistan. Candidates will be able to select their preferred examination centre while submitting their online applications. However, the final allocation of centres will be made according to the number of applicants and administrative requirements.

FPSC clarified that only candidates who successfully pass the MPT will be eligible to appear in the written CSS 2027 examination. The preliminary test has been made a mandatory stage of the CSS examination process, and qualifying it is necessary for further participation.

The commission advised applicants to carefully review eligibility criteria, age limits, educational qualifications, examination rules, and other requirements before submitting their applications. Candidates have also been instructed to verify their submitted information and deposit the required fee on time to complete the application process.

The CSS examination is considered one of Pakistan’s most competitive examinations and is used to select officers for various federal government services. Thousands of candidates appear each year, with the introduction of the MPT making the initial screening process more effective.
