ISLAMABAD – The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has achieved its tax collection target for the first month of the ongoing fiscal year, collecting Rs820 billion in July, which is Rs40 billion higher than the set target.
According to official documents, the FBR’s tax collection target for July was set at Rs780 billion. The department collected Rs820 billion during the month, meeting 105 percent of its target.
The documents stated that gross tax collection in July 2026 stood at Rs918 billion, while tax refunds worth Rs98 billion were issued during the period.
Income Tax Collection
The income tax target for July was set at Rs323 billion, while net collection remained at Rs308 billion. Gross income tax collection reached Rs343 billion, from which Rs35 billion were paid as refunds.
Sales Tax and Federal Excise Duty
The FBR collected Rs413 billion in sales tax during July, while Rs53 billion in sales tax refunds were issued.
In the Federal Excise Duty category, the revenue collection stood at Rs48 billion, slightly above the target of Rs47 billion.
Customs Duty Collection
According to the documents, customs duty collection during July 2026 reached Rs115 billion, exceeding the target of Rs105 billion.
The FBR’s performance in the first month of the fiscal year reflects higher-than-targeted revenue collection across several major tax categories.
