Araghchi briefs Lavrov on US-Iran deal, calls for peace in Lebanon

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov held a telephone conversation to discuss the preliminary agreement recently reached between Iran and the United States.

During the call, Araghchi briefed Lavrov on the details of the memorandum of understanding and underlined the importance of ensuring a complete halt to Israeli military actions in Lebanon.

Lavrov welcomed the completion of the draft agreement and reiterated Russia’s full backing for the implementation of the deal, according to Tasnim News Agency.

Both ministers also urged the international community, along with the United Nations Security Council, to support the agreement, stressing that continued diplomatic efforts remain essential for achieving lasting peace and regional stability.
