RAWALPINDI – Sri Lanka on Tuesday won the toss and elected to field first against Pakistan in the opening match of the three-match One Day International (ODI) series at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
The series marks the return of international cricket action to Rawalpindi, with both teams looking to gain early momentum ahead of the upcoming tri-nation tournament.
According to the schedule, the three-match ODI series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka will run from November 11 to 15, followed by the tri-nation series from November 17 to 29.
The tri-nation event will feature Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Zimbabwe, with matches expected to provide crucial preparation for next year’s ICC tournaments.
Cricket fans have turned out in large numbers at the Pindi Stadium, as the home side looks to secure an early lead in the series under favorable playing conditions.
