RIYADH – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir had key discussions with senior Saudi leadership including Crown Prince and Prime Minister, His Royal Highness Mohammed bin Salman during an official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
A statement shared by ISPR said the meeting focused on strengthening defense and security cooperation between the two countries and addressing broader regional peace issues.
Army Chief was warmly welcomed by at the Royal Palace in Riyadh, and two leaders engaged in comprehensive talks on a range of mutual concerns, including regional peace, defense cooperation, and strategies to enhance bilateral relations. General Munir expressed his gratitude to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for his unwavering support for Pakistan, commending his instrumental role in promoting peace and stability in the region.
“We deeply appreciate Saudi Arabia’s steadfast support for Pakistan and the leadership of His Royal Highness in driving peace and security in the region,” the top general remarked during the meeting.
In addition to his talks with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Gen Asim also met with Prince Khalid Bin Salman, the Defense Minister of Saudi Arabia. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further enhancing defense collaboration, with discussions aimed at strengthening the security frameworks and military partnerships between the two nations.
General Munir’s visit included meetings with other high-ranking Saudi military officials, including H.E Engineer Talal Abdullah Al-Otaibi, Assistant Minister of Defense; Air Chief Marshal Fayyadh Bin Hamed Bin Raqeeb Al Ruwaili, Chief of General Staff of the Royal Saudi Armed Forces; and H.E Lieutenant General Fahad bin Saud Al-Johani, Chief of the Royal Saudi Land Forces.
The meetings were aimed at deepening military ties and exploring opportunities for greater cooperation in the fields of defense, training, and technology transfer. Both sides expressed a shared commitment to countering regional security challenges and enhancing stability in the broader Middle Eastern and South Asian regions.
General Munir’s visit underscores the longstanding strategic partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, with both nations emphasizing the importance of collaboration to address common security threats and foster long-term peace.
