RAWALPINDI – A Pakistan Army major and two soldiers were martyred while eight terrorists were killed in an intelligence based operation in general area Bakka khel in Bannu.

During the operation, intense exchange of fire took place resulting in martyrdom of Major Atif Khalil, a brave officer, who was leading his troops from the front and was fighting gallantly.

Two soldiers Naik Azad Ullah and Lance Naik Ghazanfar Abbas also embraced martyrdom.

A day earlier, security forces killed a terrorist and apprehended in injured conditional during an operation in Sambaza area of Zhob district.

The operation was conducted on night between 29 and 30 October 2024, on reported presence of terrorist.

During conduct of the operation, intense fire exchange took place between own troops and militants, as a result of which, one terrorists was killed, while one was apprehended in injured condition. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from them.

“Security forces of Pakistan, in step with the nation, remain determined to thwart attempts at sabotaging peace, stability and progress of Balochistan,” said ISPR in a statement.
