Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senior Vice-President and Chief Organiser Maryam Nawaz vowed to revive development of the provincial capital if her party came into power.

“The process of development projects that were left incomplete after removal of Nawaz Sharif from power will be revived again,” said Maryam Nawaz while addressing a gathering in PP-159 Gajomata, Lahore, on Tuesday.

She is contesting elections from PP-159 and it was her first public appearance since the day the PML-N announced party tickets and launched a campaign for the fast approaching general elections. Maryam is contesting for the first time for the provincial as well as the National Assembly seat.

A day earlier, Maryam Nawaz addressed a workers’ convention in Okara and inaugurated the party’s election campaign. She had criticized the PTI, its top leadership and the former judges of the apex court in her speech.

Maryam asked the people not to vote for all those who failed to complete the development projects following removal of the PML-N supremo. “The signs of the developments started during Nawaz Sharif’s rule are still there and no further development was made,” said Maryam, criticizing the PTI government.

She used the word “intruders” while referring to the PTI. “This Metro bus and Orange Line, Orange –a project that was delayed by SaqibNisar [former Chief Justice]—nothing was done after these projects,” said the PML-N chief organizer.

She said that Lahore was completely ignored during the PTI government and there was no one even those who could keep it clean. “My dear brothers and sister, throw these intruders out of Lahore on that day of February 8,” said Maryam Nawaz, asking people to vote for her party.
