KARACHI –  Caretaker Sindh Chief Minister Justice (Retd.) Maqbool Baqirr on Tuesday voiced serious concerns over escalating state of insecurity in the province.

Chief Minister Baqir penned letters to the Inspector General of Sindh and the Director General of Rangers in this regard.

He took the step in response to the increasing incidents of lawlessness.

Highlighting the deteriorating law and order situation in both major cities and rural areas of Sindh, the Sindh CM questioned the silence of law enforcement agencies tasked with upholding the law despite the worsening conditions and the surge in serious crimes across the province.

He said that the incidents of street crimes, including daily violence against electoral candidates and blatant cases of abduction, are on the rise in Karachi.

The latest reports indicate threats to the lives and property of the journalists, lawyers, doctors, traders, and other professionals.

CM Baqir directed immediate action to address the surging wave of crime in the province and emphasized the need to ensure the protection of the fundamental rights of urban residents, as enshrined in the constitution, under all circumstances.
