RAWALPINDI – A fire broke out after a gas pipeline explosion in Rawalpindi, enveloping the nearby oil refinery supply line and residential areas on Monday.
The blast occurred in Dhamial area of Rawalpindi, and caused a subsequent outbreak of fire.
According to the eyewitnesses, the fire, ignited by the pipeline explosion, engulfed a nearby house. However, the rescue sources said that the fire affected the gas line, the oil refinery supply line, and one residential property.
According to initial reports, the explosion initially occurred in the gas pipeline, leading to the entanglement of the oil refinery supply line. The rescue authorities confirmed that teams are on-site, with six emergency vehicles, including three fire tenders, actively engaged in the operation.
Besides it, additional fire tenders have also been dispatched to the incident site.
The Rescuers said that nearby premises were evacuated as a precautionary measure, and efforts were underway to extinguish the fire.
