Indian police today arrested Hurriyat leader and Chairman of Islami Tanzeem-e-Azadi Jammu and Kashmir Abdul Samad Inqilabi in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the spokesman of Islami Tanzeem-e-Azadi in a statement issued in Srinagar said that Abdul Samad Inqilabi was released after a long detention a few months ago on a court order.

The organization’s representative in Muzaffarabad, Abdul Majeed Lone, while condemning the arrest of Abdul Samad Inqilabi, said that India’s attitude towards the Kashmir dispute was extremely dangerous for regional peace and security.

He urged the international community to force India to give up its intransigence on Kashmir and resolve the lingering Kashmir dispute in accordance with the United Nations resolutions and aspirations of the Kashmiri people.—KMS
