Caretaker Prime Minister AnwarulHaq Kakar has said that the federal government is making great efforts to discharge its responsibilities according to its mandate, especially for economic development.
He was talking to Governor Punjab Muhammad Balighur Rehman at Governor House Lahore on Tuesday and various issues and matters of mutual interest came under discussion during the meeting.
The Caretaker Prime Minister and the Governor of Punjab expressed their satisfaction on the performance of the Punjab Government and the progress on the ongoing development projects in Punjab. Speaking on the occasion, Governor Muhammad Balighur Rahman drew the attention of the prime minister to the issue of reduction in annual funding of the Higher Education Commission to universities.
The Governor Punjab said that the Higher Education Commission should increase its funding to the universities and also support the universities in improving financial conditions.
