Sindh’s Caretaker Minister for Home & Prison Brig (R) Haris Nawaz has reiterated his resolve to restore law & order in Sindh in general and in Karachi in particular. He was talking to Editor-in-Chief of Pakistan Observer Faisal Zahid Malik who called on him at his office in the ministry.
Brig Haris said street crime was indeed a challenge but he had passed orders and there are clear instructions to the police as well as the law-enforcing agencies that street criminals and mobile phone snatchers should be dealt with iron hand.
I am personally monitoring the law and order situation in the province and assure you no one will be spared, said Brig Haris while talking to the CEO of Pakistan Observer.
The Editor-in-Chief while commending his resolve and efforts to curb the street crimes, drew the attention of the Provincial Home Minister towards the menace of drugs which is spreading in the educational institutions at a fast speed. Our youths are being targeted by drug peddlers and drug traffickers, said Faisal Malik and urged the minister to take action in that direction as well.
The provincial minister said he was aware of that challenge as well. Soon, you will see a crackdown on those involved in drug use, supply etc. We shall save our future generation from this threat as well. Our police are among the best in curbing the crimes, we only need to support them, said the minister. He also thanked the Editor-in-Chief for highlighting the law and order related issues.
