The tall claims made by Narendra Modi-led Indian government about the creation of jobs in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir at the time of the repeal of its special status have proved to be a hoax as nearly eight lac youth registered at Directorate of Employment including two lac educated individuals are unemployed.
The data revealed by the Public Information Officer (PIO) at Directorate of Employment in a reply to Right to Information (RTI) application revealed that there were nearly eight lakh unemployed individuals registered with it. The total number of unemployed educated youth registered at the departmental portal as on May 31, 2023 was 1,99,872.
It is to mention here that the Modi regime had promised a job bonanza for educated Kashmiri youth post abrogation of Article 370, which granted special status to IIOJK. However, it did exactly the opposite of what it had assured. It not only terminated several hundreds and thousands of youth working in various government departments but also put the existing government jobs to auction with the middlemen extorting huge money from prospective job seekers in the name of employment. These jobs, which were exclusively meant for the natives of occupied Kashmir, are now open to the Indian citizens as well since the repeal of special status of the occupied territory on August 05, 2019.—KMS
