India’s dreaded National Investigation Agency (NIA) has summoned prominent Kashmiri religious cleric and Rector of famous Islamic seminary Darul Aloom Reheemiya, Maulana Rehmatullah Qasmi.

The NIA has asked Maulana Rehmatullah Qasmi to present himself at its camp office in Srinagar, today. He has been summoned in a case related to alleged funding activities of Al Huda Education Trust (AHET) in Rajouri.

Notably, in October last year, the NIA had raided the house of Maulana Qasmi in Bandipora, a week after he held a press conference against the govern-ment order forcing the students in the schools of occupied Kashmir to sing Hindu bhajan (devotional song).—KMS
