In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, scores of people staged a protest in Magam area of central Kashmir’s Badgam district, today, against the ongoing eviction drives across the territory.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the protesters including woman and youth were holding various placards reading ‘stand up for your rights, ‘we want justice’, ‘it is time to wake up’. They raised slogans demanding an immediate rollback of the order calling for a removal of people from their land.

The protestors said the Kashmiris are being deprived of their rights and their lands as well. “This is not a question of the present generations now; this is about the coming generations of Kashmir,” a protestor said.

The protesters said that if the occupation authorities were taking their land, it should first tell where shall we go? They called for an immediate halt to the ongoing eviction drive.—INP
