The Sindh High Court on Monday restrained the provincial police from arresting Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Senator Azam Swati in further cases and also directed the inspector general to review all first information reports filed against him.
A two-member bench, headed by Justice Karim Khan Agha, heard the case related to the senator. During the hearing, Justice Agha asked the IG how can an FIR be registered in each province regarding the same incident. The court then issued an order not to arrest Swati in further cases and directed the provincial top cop to submit record of all FIRs related to the senator.
Justice Agha also instructed IG Sindh and prosecutor general Sindh to review the said FIRs and submit a report. The court then adjourned the hearing related to Swati’s cases till December 15.
