Tree plantation necessary to counter negative impacts of climate change

Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC) arranged an inauguration ceremony for “Clean & Green Pakistan Campaign”. Muhammad Ayub Chaudhry, Chairman, PARC Planted a Tree Sapling at PARC HQs, Islamabad on 1st August, 2019. Sr. Management of PARC was also present on the spot. Special prayers for the success of the campaign were also offered on the occasion.
While sharing the views, Muhammad Ayub Chaudhry, Chairman, PARC emphasized the importance of plantation by saying all the Scientists, Researchers and Internees of PARC / NARC to take part in the “Clean and Green Pakistan Campaign. Clean & Green Pakistan campaign is a national movement and we should all work together to make this campaign successful. He further expressed that our forests are unique and diverse ecological systems that provide timbre and fuel wood and also provide environmental and ecological services such as water regulation, soil fertility regulation and habitat for biodiversity. He more added that tree plantation is necessary to counter the negative impacts of climate change. It is also very important to increase survival rate of plants through protection and care. The Chairman, PARC also told the Hadith of the Holy Prophet (S.A.W) that cleanliness constitutes half of the faith and there is a need to create awareness in the nation about the importance of cleanliness.
Muhammad Ishaq Rao, Secretary, PARC highlighted that the tree plantation campaigns are frequently conducted to highlight the important role of forests in the improvement of the environment and poverty alleviation. He also urged the people to plant a maximum number of trees in this campaign to make it successful.
