2-day workshop on “National Workshop on Incubator Management” started here at the National University of Modern Languages (NUML) on Thursday. Special Advisor to the Prime Minister on Youth Affairs Usman Dar was the chief guest on the inaugural ceremony, while Rector NUML Major General (retd) Muhammad Jaffar, Director General NUML Brig Muhammad Ibrahim, Deans, Directors, resource persons and participants from various universities also attended the session.
The workshop was jointly organized by Business Incubation Center of NUML (BICON), Higher Education Commission and Idea-Gist.
Speaking on the occasion chief guest Special Advisor to the Prime Minister on youth Affairs Usman Dar said that government is striving hard to engage youth in various projects like KamyabJawan and Youth Empowerment Scheme (YES). He said Rs100 billion allocated for youth loan program in which unemployed youth will be given interest free loan to start their own businesses. Dar said that Pakistan needs 1.7million jobs every years to cater youth and in KamyabJawan program government through public private partnership will create such opportunities to empower our youth.
Earlier, Rector NUML Major General (retd) Muhammad Jaffarwelcomed the honourable chief guest and briefed him about the University. Rector NUML in his welcome address, while highlighting the significance of the workshop said that this workshop was designed to highlight the best practices to develop a culture of entrepreneurship at regional and national level by enhancing the governance of incubation centers through policies and procedures within the current incubation ecosystem of Pakistan.
Rector said that it is great pleasure for me to know that this workshop is being attended by the 80 participants from 38 universities across Pakistan and hopefully all the bright minds suggest us how to foster the entrepreneurial culture in Pakistan.
