Says hoarding of Panadol tablet

Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid has said hoarding of Panadol tablets and its selling at high rates will not be tolerated at any cost. She said this while presiding over a meeting to review the dengue situation in the province here on Friday.

Punjab Drug Control Director General Dr Sohail had been directed to initiate immediate action against hoarding of Panadol tablets and their selling at high price. Dr Yasmin said that dengue situation was being monitored continuously in Punjab and the best dengue treatment facilities were being provided in all government teaching hospitals. Provincial Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid has ordered strict legal action against mafias who stock Panadol tablets and sell them at high prices across the province. Secretary Health Punjab Imran Sikandar Baloch, Special Secretary Dr. Farrukh Naveed, CEO Punjab Healthcare Commission Saqib Aziz, Additional Secretary Admin Zahida Azhar, Additional Secretary Dr. Hafiz Shah Daltif, Dr Asad Aslam Khan, Chairman DEAG Dr. Tanveerul Islam, Mian Zahid ul Rahman, and other officers were present in the meeting. Punjab Health Secretary Imran Sikandar Baloch, Special Secretary Dr. Farrukh Naveed and Dr. Asad Aslam Khan gave a briefing to Provincial Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid.

Provincial Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid said that during the increase in dengue in Punjab, the stockpiling and buying and selling of Panadol tablets at high prices will not be tolerated.

Dr. Yasmin Rashid said that we are continuously monitoring the situation of dengue in Punjab. Better treatment facilities are being provided to dengue patients in all the government teaching hospitals of Punjab. A ramp-up plan has been prepared to increase the number of beds for dengue patients in the hospitals. that all DCs and commissioners should enhance dengue surveillance in their respective areas.

She said collective efforts of all relevant departments were required to control the spread

of dengue. Punjab Health Care Commission Chief Executive Officer Saqib Aziz had been directed to ensure continuous monitoring of dengue test rates.

Punjab Health Secretary Imran Sikander Baloch, Special Secretary Dr Farrukh Naveed and others were also present in the meeting.
