A delegation of the Islamic Emirate is in Moscow to discuss the import of products from Russian to Afghanistan with Russian officials, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) said.
The delegation is also expected to discuss barter trade with the Russian side and the import of oil and wheat to Afghanistan.
“Over past several days, during the ongoing negotiations, the Afghan delegation has succeeded to talk about the technical issues and transportation of products,” said Zakirullah Jalali, an official of the MoFA. Meanwhile, the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment (ACCI) said that the Russian market is good for the Afghan domestic products.
“Russia is important from economic side for Afghanistan. It has a lot of food materials. It has a good market for Afghanistan’s export,” said Khanjan Alokzay, a member of the ACCI.
The Afghanistan Chamber of Agriculture and Livestock (ACIL) said that the barter trade will benefit Afghanistan. “We can have barter trade as well,” said Mirwais Hajizada, the deputy head of the ACIL. According to the ACCI, the annual trade between Kabul and Moscow has increased to $170 million.—Tolo News
