In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, a journalist was beaten by men in plainclothes in Bemina area of Srinagar.
The victim journalist Shabraiz Bashir son of late Bashir Ahmad, a resident of Hamdanya colony Bemina, lodged a written complaint to the effect that on Saturday he was thrashed and injured by four unknown persons in Bemina Chowk who fled away from the spot in a white car.
Police claimed on Sunday to have arrested the accused men for beating the journalist. In this regard a case was registered in Police station Bemina.
It is worth mentioning here that IIOJK journalists are working under tough condtions particularly after the Modi-led Indian regime revoked Kashmir’s special status on August 5, 2019.—KMS
