Former Governor Punjab and President of Jazba Foundation Lt. Gen. (R) Khalid Maqbool has said that education and health issues facing women, access to medical treatment facilities, better quality of life and healthy development of children required financial empowerment of women. He said that along with education, women should also get training in various fields including handicrafts, as skilled women are able to run their own business and become self-reliant to support their family for better education and health opportunities for their children. Khalid Maqbool further said that Jazba Foundation is struggling for women empowerment by providing business opportunities to the skilled/ entrepreneur women who are running small businesses due to shortage of resources.

The Foundation is providing Jockey Sewing Machines, Beauty Parlour Equipment, Chairs, Appliances, Beauty Parlour Kits and complete set of computers to establish Computer Education Center to skilled deserving women deprived of resources to start or expand their own business.

He expressed these views while addressing a ceremony at the Royal Palm Club on Saturday to distribute jockey machines, beauty parlour equipment, parlour chairs and computers to skilled/business women to expand their business .

The ceremony was also attended by the retired colleagues of Lt. Gen. (R) Khalid Maqbool from Pakistan Army, Jazba Foundation officials and donors. Khalid Maqbool said that with the financial support of Jazba Foundation’s philanthropists, one thousand skilled women have so far been able to expand their business or start new business at a cost of Rs. 96 million with jockey industrial sewing machines, beauty parlour equipments and computers for setting up computer education centres provided by the foundation.

Khalid Maqbool said that providing business to one thousand women is in fact a step towards economic prosperity of one thousand families. Khalid Maqbool said that women suffer from many domestic and social problems due to lack of resources and poverty. Lt. Gen. (R) Khalid Maqbool further said that Jazba Foundation with the help of wealthy people and philanthropists would continue to help skilled women in achieving their goal of self-sufficiency.
