Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Religious Harmony and Middle East Affairs Hafiz Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi has said that Islamophobia, Kashmir and Palestine will be discussed at the OIC meeting, being held in Islamabad from March 22.
Talking to the media on Friday, he said that the United Nations (UN) had approved the resolution against Islamophobia, which was tabled by Pakistan with the help of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) while India opposed the resolution. He said that blasphemy and issue of Hijab were part of Islamophobia.
Ashrafi said that Islamophobia was an issue of entire Muslim Ummah. He said that China and Russia also supported the resolution.
He said that the foreign ministers, who were coming for the meeting, would also participate in the March 23 parade in Islamabad.
Ashrafi said that Prime Minister Imran Khan would inaugurate the OIC meeting in which about 50 delegations from different countries would participate.
Thanking the leadership of the opposition, he said that the opposition had postponed its long march till the conclusion of the meeting.
“It will be the 2nd OIC conference within three months,” he said.
