Sweden embassy launches 7-day challenge

The seven-day Challenge – Eat, Move, and Live Sustainably— was launched on Friday by the Embassy of Sweden in collaboration with WWF at the residence of the Ambassador Henrik Persson.

Federal Minister for National Food Security, Syed Fakhar Imam attended the event as Chief Guest.

In his address, Syed Fakhar Imam said Pakistan is an agro-based economy and its crop economy, livestock economy, fisheries economy and forest economy are going to be affected in case climate change situation worsens.

He also linked adequate nourishment and lifestyle with challenge of climate change. Pakistan is also facing challenges of carbon emission, chemicals going down into our waters. Our quality of food, production is not up to the mark, he said.

Swedish Ambassador Henrik Persson said let’s start a more sustainable and smarter lifestyle together today! It can be as simple as saying no to single use of plastic products or using a bicycle whenever you can to reduce your carbon footprint.
