Warns against negligence in cleanliness, disposal of rainwater

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has directed the administration and other line departments including Wasa to remain vigilant across the province and ensure disposal of rainwater from low-lying areas well in time.

The CM also directed the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) and Rescue 1122 to be fully alert round-the-clock for prompt relief and rescue operations to deal with any eventuality.

The chief minister directed Wasa officials as well as the field administration to remain available in the field for timely rescue operation. “Rainwater must be drained out from roads in time to ensure smooth flow of traffic,” CM Buzdar.

The chief minister underscored that rain-related situation should be fully monitored, making it clear that no leniency would be tolerated in this regard.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar directed that the solid waste management companies and local government institutions should ensure zero-waste management on Eidul Azha. He said that animals’ offal and other waste should be properly disposed of in time.

“The best cleanliness arrangements should be made across province and commissioners and DCs should monitor the arrangements,” he added.

The CM also announced personal monitoring of the cleanliness arrangement on Eid. He also warned against negligence or leniency in the cleanliness process during Eid days.

“The citizens’ complaints should be timely resolved as line departments are duty-bound to provide a clean atmosphere to the citizens,” he stressed and the line departments should be fully prepared in the wake of rains to best perform their duty.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Usman Buzdar ordered foolproof security arrangements on Eidul Azha, saying that foolproof security arrangements should be made for all Eid congregations scheduled to be held in mosques, imambargahs, Eidgahs and other open places.

On the other hand, Chief Minister Usman Buzdar emphasised that violation of corona SOPs’ would not be tolerated in cattle markets.

He declared that stern action would be taken in case of dereliction of duty. “Best cleanliness arrangements should be made in cattle markets and smooth flow of traffic in and around all such areas be ensured”, he directed.

The CM also directed that special police teams should be constituted to check the menace of one-wheeling on Eid.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Usman Buzdar appealed to people to celebrate Eidul Azha with simplicity while observing corona SOPs.

Usman Buzdar reiterated to maintain social distancing in the public along with vaccination as people should be very careful to remain safe from the fourth corona wave.

“The people can remain safe from this virus by observing SOPs during Eid holidays and the situation can lead to strict measures if precautions are not observed,” the CM concluded.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar will offer Eidul Azha prayer here in the provincial metropolis.

He will pray for the solidarity and prosperity of the country and Muslim Ummah along with the freedom of oppressed Kashmiris from Indian brutalities. He will also perform the Sunnat-e-Ibrahimi here in the City.
