The Society for the Protection of the Child (SPARC) organized a seminar at a local hotel on the issue of child labourIn which RiazFatyana Chairman, National Assembly Standing Committee on Law and Justice,Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Member National Assembly and Federal Parliamentary Secretary for the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordinationand other distinguished guests participated.
MNA Syma Nadeem said that child labour is considered as oppression in any society not only in Pakistan but also in the whole world.
She said that the mafia has always been active behind the forced labor of innocent children, including begging on signals by children, child labor, hotel work, domestic minor labour and many more.
There is a need to identify the factors that lead to problems such as child labor. In the past, there has been a lot of legislation at the provincial level regarding forced labor on minors, but it has not been implemented.
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government, led by Prime Minister Mr.Imran Khan, is going to further improve the laws that have been enacted in the past regarding child labor, which will surely yield better results.
At the same time, with regard to the education of children, our government is going to introduce a uniform education system in government schools from the first grade to the tenth grade, which I believe is a good step that will enable every child to be adorned with education.
Especially the street children who are living helpless lives on the streets, the first priority of our government is to provide them with better education , training and shelter on which steps will be taken.
As a responsible citizen, it is also our personal duty not to employee minors in our homes and to do our part to prevent it if anyone else is involved.
These children are the architects of our country. The government and all of us together can save these little flowers from falling.
