Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar has formally inaugurated “Palestine Society” to express solidarity with the Palestinians.

“Terrorists have no religion and the Jews who killed innocent people are also terrorists”, Ch Sarwar declared, adding that linking terrorism with Muslims is not justified.

Governor Ch Sarwar was addressing the inaugural ceremony of “Palestine Society” at Government College University Lahore.

GCU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Asghar Zaidi and a large number of students were also present on the occasion.

Ch Sarwar said that linking terrorism with Muslims is hypocrisy. “Islam teaches love, peace and brotherhood,” he underscored, adding that in Islam, killing one person is akin to killing all of mankind.

He said that the world must recognize that terrorists have no religion. The Jews who martyred innocent worshipers in Masjid Al-Aqsa are also terrorists. Until the Kashmir and Palestine issues are resolved, the dream of peace in the world will never come true.

Responding to questions of media, Ch Sarwar said that world community stopped the United States from waging the Afghan war but it kept on fighting, and, today, USA is withdrawing its troops from Afghanistan, adding that the United States should not try to form a government of their own accord in Afghanistan as this will worsen the situation again. He said that Pakistan has suffered the most due to the US war in Afghanistan.

The question arises, will the Afghan Taliban remain silent, if Pakistan allows US military to operate bases on its soil for attacking Afghans ?, adding that the United States wants to pitch Pakistan against Afghanistan, but we will not allow this to happen and the government will make decision in national interest. Pakistan has made a final decision not to give bases to USA.

The Punjab governor said that Pakistan has always supported peace. The government also want better relations with India but it is not possible till settlement of Kashmir issue .

He said that he resolution of Kashmir issue is only possible by bringing all stake holders: Kashmiris, Pakistan and India to the negotiating table.

Government College University Lahore vice chancellor Prof Dr Asghar Zaidi said the hearts of Pakistani and Palestinian people always beat together. Today, 220 million Pakistanis stand united with their Palestinian brothers and sisters.

The international institutions should take notice of the terrorism happening in Palestine and the Palestinian people be given freedom, which is their basic right.
