Islamabad
Today, 120 trees were planted in Islamabad by the Private Power and Infrastructure Board (PPIB) to follow the vision of the Prime Minister of Pakistan for creating a positive image of the country by making it clean and green. The Managing Director PPIB Mr. Shah Jahan Mirza inaugurated the event by planting a tree and appealed that maximum number of trees be planted at homes, neighbourhoods and cities for making the “Clean Green Pakistan” movement successful. This will eventually turn Pakistan into a clean and green homeland as the massive plantation would also help in addressing the challenge of growing pollution in the cities and with a larger aim to address the phenomenon of global warming.
He said PPIB has been making important contributions through addition of new power generation capacity from private sector power projects to eliminate chronic load shedding from the country. In the same spirit, he said that PPIB will continue to support the Honourable Prime Minister Imran Khan in this noble drive which is truly the need of the time. He further added that PPIB also accords top priority to safeguarding the environment in establishing power generation plants.—PR
