Huawei held its first IP and optical Forum 2019 in Islamabad from 21-23 of October. The event was held under the theme building 5G and cloud Oriented Intelligent IP Plus Optical network.
5G and Cloud Services will bring enormous pressure on the optical and IP networks. In order for industry to cope these challenges this event will provide insight about innovative and smart solutions. Huawei will continue to exhibit its cutting-edge products to contribute in Pakistani ICT industry and the ecosystem.
Federal Secretary of State for information Technology and Telecommunication Mr. Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui graced the occasion as chief guest. He appreciated the efforts of Huawei by addressing the participants. He said “Huawei is a pride company for Pakistan and worldwide. 60% population of Pakistan is youth. It is a dynamic country with a lot of potential in every field. We recognize efforts of Huawei, their work and growth is tremendous. 5G is the call of the day, Huawei stepping forward in the field of IT is of immense importance for Pakistan. The ministry’s dream is to see provision of technology all over Pakistan. Long-term plans of Pak China collaboration are always welcome and appreciated. Collaboration in all fields and the specially in IT can be a great source of innovation.”
Ahmed Bilal Masood Deputy CEO huawei opened the session by introducing the IP and Optical forum. He mentioned the vision of Huawei “ ICT Industry flow has reversed instead of business driving technology, business is driven by technology.
We are living in the era of connectivity which has began the digitalisation for both government and industry. Huawei has come a long way now a world leading ICT infrastructure and smart device operator. Huawei has served more than 3 billion users in last 30 years in 170+ countries without a single cyber security issue. We perceive Pakistan as one of the fastest growing markets in Middle East. Huawei will continue to support in Pakistan with cutting-edge technology. “
Li Yuanling, Counselor, Chinese Embassy in Pakistan also attended the event. In his speech he mentioned Pak China relationship by saying “ the bond China has with Pakistan has no limits. The efforts of Huawei in Pakistan being a Chinese telecom giant is of immense pride for all.
The era now is of digital connectivity and bringing ICT plays a vital role in a country’s development. All the expansion and growth in connectivity requires enormous bandwidth on IP and optical networks. Huawei has designed this forum to focus on huawei IP and Optical Vision and Strategy, Building intelligent IP networks towards 5G and Cloud Era and use AI to build autonomous Networks.”
