Malaysian National Day Malaysia, Pakistan upbeat on closer cooperation

High Commissioner Ikram bin Mohammad Ibrahim hosted a warm reception in the federal capital to mark 62nd National Day of his country. Federal Minister Khusro Bakhtiar was the chief guest at the event who joined the host and other ASEAN diplomats in cutting the ceremonial cake. A large number of guests, diplomats, officials and prominent people from various segments of the Pakistani society came to the reception to share joys of the occasion with the Malaysian high commissioner. The Malaysians at the reception were attired in their national dress.
The chief guest and the Malaysian high commissioner in their speeches were upbeat on possibilities of closer cooperation between Pakistan and Malaysia. Pakistan and Malaysia became close friends and partners as soon as Malaysia gained freedom from Britain sixty two year ago. There have been frequent exchanges of visits between the two countries at the level of heads of government.
Incumbent prime minister of Malaysia, Mahathir Mohammad and Prime Minister Imran Khan are committed to promoting bilateral cooperatiive relation between their two countries. They are taking initiatives to boost relations between Pakistan and Malaysia in vital areas like trade and investments. Malaysia has emerged as a prosperous country as a result of progress it achieved in economic and social fields.
Malaysia has taken strides in manufacturing and in the field of tourism. Above all the most striking feature of Malaysia is ethnic harmony among Malays and minority social groups of Chinese and Hindu descent.
