Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Mian Shehbaz Sharif signed tickets for the party’s Senate candidates in the courtroom on Wednesday.
Senate candidates whose nomination papers got signed in the courtroom are: Azam Nazir Tarrar, Sadia Khaqan Abbasi, Irfan Siddiqui, Sajid Mir, Saira Afzal Tarar, Malik Saiful Malook Khokhar and others. Earlier, the Opposition Leader in the National Assembly was brought to the accountability court in Lahore from Kot Lakhpath jail amid tight security for the hearing of money laundering and assets beyond means references.
Accountability Court Judge Amjad Nazir Chaudhry adjourned the case hearing of Shehbaz Sharif till February 25. PML-N President sought permission from the judge to sign the Senate tickets and that was granted. Meanwhile, the court also heard the case on the bail application of Hamza Shehbaz. A two-member bench comprising Justice Sardar Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar and Justice Asjad Javed Gharral adjourned the case without hearing till February 23. Meanwhile, Shehbaz Sharif and PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif had a telephonic conversation on Wednesday. Shehbaz inquired about the health of his elder brother.
