IT was shocking to hear Altaf Hussain saying in TV interviews that the 1947 partition was wrong, he wanted to be back to India on asylum, and minced no words in requesting Indian prime minister Nirender Modi to grant him that opportunity.
When in 2016, former MQM Minister, Mayor, senator, and now chief of Pak Sarzameen Party Mustafa Kamal on return from exile claimed that his former leader had shown him money received from India, that was looked down upon with some suspicion and doubt, but same thing was later repeated in considerable detail by Altaf’s closest aides like Mohammad Anwar, and Tariq Mir. That gave credence to what Kamal had said, or what army has now disclosed to the countrymen.
However Altaf continued to be hero of many a migrants from India for which he had founded Mohajir Qoumi Movement, renaming it later as Muttehada Qoumi Movement, but Pakistan army has now come out with substantial details of India training 46 of his followers and funding the founder of MQM, to the tune of 3.2 million US dollars. Perhaps the amount could have been far higher than had been revealed in a dossier shown to the media by foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, and Director General ISPR, Maj-General Iftikhar Babar last week.
‘The division of India was wrong’ he said not in one but several interviews on Indian channels, adding that houses and belongings of Hindus and Sikhs were looted in Karachi and Lahore, forgetting conveniently to mention that the great divide that caused incredible massacre of hundreds and thousands of Muslims In India, blood bath was carried out in Bihar, Bengal and Northern India, and in moving trains of those leaving their homes and property while moving to a new land of promises prosperity. Women and young girls were gang-raped, and quite a large number of them had jumped into water wells to save their honour and dignity. They died but as Muslims did not compromise with the situation.
His interviews are available on Youtube wherein he again raised the slogan down with Pakistan, and Pakistan Army, no further evidence is needed because words quoted here are all his own. No exaggeration, addition or subtraction has been attempted to, neither has it been twisted or town. Facts are presented in their original form and as shown live on networks.
Facts being revealed to people by circumstances, or by those at the helm, are as clear as the sunshine. No further proof is required for a person whose party was second only to Indian National Congress to rule for over 37 years in Pakistan, in coalition with PML-N, PPP, or under General Pervez Musharraf. Altaf touched the peak of glory in his life time, but since every rise has a fall, he too destroyed himself by raising anti-Pakistan slogan in a workers meeting in August 2016, and now his party is in tatters. Efforts are on to merge various factions of MQM into some kind of united front to secure the rights of the Urdu speaking Migrants from India, who are now being subjected to all kinds of parochial treatment by Peoples Party. Some of the old Altaf loyalists like Haider Abbas Rizvi, Nadeem Nusrat,Wasey Jalil, and defectors like Wasim Aftab, Dr Sagheer Ahmad, Raza Haoon they all are in contact with MQM-Pakistan, and its leader Khalid Mqbool Siddiqi, former minister and MNA, claims former senator Nasreen Jaleel. Whether such a goal will remain elusive or the dream can turn into reality, remains to be seen.
The foreign minister and ISPR chief also submitted a dossier to the countrymen to submit incontrovertible evidence of India giving huge amount to Baluch dissidents like Baloch Liberation Army, Balochistan Republic Army, Tehreek-e-Taliban, Pakistan, and operating 87 training camps in Afghanistan and India for terrorists’ attacks in major Pakistani cities like Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar etc. The civilian-military cooperation, plans to convey all these facts of Indian design to create instability in Pakistan, and damage CPEC, which is indeed vital for Pakistan, India also lobbied and voted against Pakistan in FATF meeting abroad. All that Pakistan now needs is for the world to understand that Indian government is out to create chaos in the region.
