An extra-ordinary meeting of the All Parties Hurriyat Confeence Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter was held in Islamabad, today, with Convener, Mustafa Muhammad Hussain in chair.
The participants of the meeting reviewed the current situation of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir and reiterated the Kashmiris’ resolve to continue their struggle for securing right to self-determination.
They deplored that the Indian government had created an atmosphere of fear and chaos for Hurriyat leaders in the occupied territory. They added that the residences of the Hurriyat leaders were being raided and they were threatened to withdraw from liberation movement after receiving the details of their propertied and data and phone numbers of their relatives.
The participants of the meeting rejected all actions and anti-Hurriyat campaign by the Indian government. They said that India wanted to suppress the Kashmiris’ indigenous liberation movement through military might but would never succeed in its nefarious designs.
The Hurriyat leaders urged the international human rights organisations to take notice of the India’s attempt of converting the Muslim majority status of the Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir into a minority and play their role in release of all illegally detained Hurriyat leaders and activists.
The participants of the meeting also condemned the contemptuous remarks of BJP leader and a Hindu priest of Reasi, Jammu, Satpal Sharma against the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and warned that such kind of derogatory remarks would not be tolerated.
The meeting also welcomed the awarding of Nishan-i-Pakistan, the highest Civilian Award of the country, by Pakistan to veteran Kashmiri Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Gilani.—KMS
