In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference and other Hurriyat leaders have welcomed the awarding of Nishan-i-Pakistan, the highest Civilian Award of the country, by Pakistan to veteran Kashmiri Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Gilani.
The APHC General Secretary, Molvi Bashir Ahmed, in a statement issued in Srinagar, said that conferring Nishan-i-Pakistan on the veteran Hurriyat leader, showed Pakistan’s commitment to the Kashmiris’ just cause of liberating their homeland from the Indian yoke. He expressed gratitude on behalf of people of Jammu and Kashmir to the government of Pakistan for continuously extending its moral, political and diplomatic support to the oppressed Kashmiris.
Hurriyat leaders including Zamruda Habib and Umar Aadil Dar in their statements said that awarding of Nishan-i-Pakistan to Syed Ali Gilani was not only a tribute to him for his marvelous contribution and sacrifices for the Kashmir cause but also recognition of Kashmiris’ freedom struggle.—KMS
