3 panchs resign in Poonch to protest against panchayats’ poor work

In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir; three panchs of Kahno Kalani panchayat have resigned to protest against the poor work of panchayats in Poonch district.

The panchs of block Sathra have submitted their resignations from their panchayat membership while expressing dissatisfaction over the working of panchayats in Mandi area of the district.

The panchs, Zulfiqar Ahmed, Riaz Ahmed and Tariq Hussain from wards 1, 3, and 4 respectively, have submitted their resignations to Block Development Officer, Sathra.

Talking to media persons before submitting their resignations, the panchayat ward members said that development in their panchayat is going at a snail’s pace while the sand and land mafia is also active.

The sands in rivers and nallas of the occupied territory were snatched by the Modi regime from people of Jammu and Kashmir and are now run by a son of the Indian Home Minister.

Panchayat members also said that no development work is being done in their wards and despite repeated pleas, before the authorities concerned, no one is paying attention to their problems.—KMS
