3 Indian troops injured in Rajouri attack

Three Indian troops were injured in an attack in Rajouri district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the troops were injured in an attack during a cordon and search operation in Kalakote area of the district.

The operation was launched by Indian troops and paramilitary forces on Monday in the area.

The injured troops have been hospitalised.

The additional troops were rushed to the area while several additional companies were deployed by Indian government in Rajouri and Poonch districts.

An Indian Border Security Force (BSF) man was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Jammu city, the second such incident among Indian forces’ personnel in the past 48 hours in the city. According to Kashmir Media Service, the retired from BSF SubashMaratrao (44) was found dead in a hotel room number 507 of Swagat Hotel near Vivekananda Chowk in the city.

The retired man was staying in the hotel room for the past two days. He might have died on the intervening nights of October 1st-2nd, 2023, a police spokesperson said, who said the body of the deceased was taken into custody by a team of Police Post Hari Market Jammu.

According to him, the nose of the deceased was bleeding and there were marks of vomiting in his mouth. “A lot of tablets have also been recovered from the bag of the deceased,” he said.

While police have shifted the body of the deceased to the mortuary for conducting the post-mortem, inquest proceedings have been initiated at the concerned police station for further investigation into the matter.

Earlier on Sunday, a head constable of Central Reserve Police Force on Sunday died of bullet injury under mysterious circumstances inside KotBhalwal Jail in Jammu.—KMS
