25th Mid Summer Flower Show was organized by – the National Horticultural Society of Pakistan (NHSP) on 20th August, 2023 at PC Bhurban, Murree. This show is being organized by (NHSP), every year at Murree for more than last two decades. Brig Majid Bhatti, Commandant Army Logistic School Murree, inaugurated the flower show. Dr. Syed Habib Ali Bukhari, Vice Chancellor, Kohsar University, Murree was the Chief Guest At the prize distribution Ceremony of the Mid-Summer Flower show.
While welcoming the Chief Guest and participants of the show Mr. Iftikhar Ahmed Awan, Chairman NHSP, said that main objective of organizing this flower show is to promote horticultural activities amongst various organizations and home gardeners to provide a platform to spectacle their expertise in the field of floriculture Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Syed Habib Ali Bukhari commended the efforts of National Horticultural Society of Pakistan in promoting the culture of flowers and providing healthy entertainment to flower lovers / residents of Murree.
He said that NHSP is playing a significant role in creating awareness among the people about floriculture, home gardening, landscaping and tree plantation. He said the NHSP is contributing to the noble cause by organizing four flower shows in a year. No doubt it is an amazing work and passion of various organizations and armature home gardeners to horticultural activities. contribute to Trophies, shields and cash prizes were distributed amongst the winners/participants. Over all first position was secured by Lawrence College, Murree and Flag Staff House. Overall second position was won by P.C Burban, Murree.
In hospital category CMH secured 1st position. Besides, Governor House, Floriculture and landscaping Sub Station, Murree and CMH, Kohsar University Murree won prizes in different categories. Gold Medal was awarded to Mr. Muhammad Mukhtar, very well known as “Baba-ie-Fuchsia of Murree on his life achievement in the field. Ladies and university students participated in flower arrangement competition and won prizes. Amateurs and home gardeners also participated in the flower show and awarded prizes.
